I don’t think people understand what I mean when I say that welfare and affirmative action are institutionalized racism. I don’t mean its racist toward the people who don’t get it. I mean its racist toward the people who DO get it. its disabling. its enslavement. and I just saw a preview for a documentary on this subject that I’m really interested in watching.
institutionalized racism and sexism does exist. it’s disabling and enslaving people everyday and shows no sign of stopping. its called welfare. its called affirmative action. its called abortion. mainstream media is feeding it to us and we’re just eating it up and asking for more. more choice. more help. more dependence. more words we can’t say. more protection. more surveillance. more government.
the whole ‘you cant be racist towards white people’ thing is so ridiculous if someone is being discriminated because of their race then that is racism
the specific race involved is irrelevant
It is racism but white people have never been oppressed, so there shouldn’t be nearly as much offence taken.
You don’t know much about European history do you. to a non-white person, or a person disinterested in nationality/ culture/ facts, white people may be grouped into the one, almighty term “white people.” but I acknowledge how flawed that is. just like I would never be so quick to put all histories, nationalities, cultures, class, etc under one , almighty “black people.” that’s racism.
and considering social justice blogs griping over “taking offense” you should know that you can never tell someone about what, and to what degree, someone can take offense to something. imagine never being able to take pride in your history, ancestors, traditions, just because other people would find it “racist.” that is also ethnic cleansing.
and it doesn’t take being white to recognize this. I am not white. I am not self hating. I am light skinned. do it. dismiss my opinion because Im light skinned and then call other people racist.
I am a person. That is all that matters.
Yet another comic that seems to be applicable to today’s world…
yes, outrage is necessary today. but we already pay a lot of unconstitutional taxes. we haven’t been America for a really, really long time now.
by America, don’t you mean white?
why do liberals insist on making everything about race? Im not white, I don’t abide by white and black because they don’t exist. “white” represents no one. “black” represents no one. and most especially they do not represent ME. it leaves the rest of us in the dark, not even taking note of our existence. fucking racist. I exist too.
Stay classy, libertarians. Stay classy.
That moment when someone takes a statement completely out of context to strengthen their cause.
Stay classy, whatever noun you preferred to be called (I would hate to offend your sensitive sensibilities). Stay classy.
It’s funny because racism is often used in just such a way.
you have to be very clear when talking to people who are quickly realizing their words are actually hollow, they start wanting to twist yours.
racism isnt a red herring, OP. “racism” is a red herring. you know, the countless situations where its not actually racism.
if you have time in your day to type out a tumblr post about how straight white men are always more privileged…
stand up from the computer or mobile device you are currently staring at.
walk over to a chair.
stand on it.
and scream the following as loudly as your little vocal cords will allow:
“I AM SO GRATEFUL FOR HOW PRIVILEGED I AM. THIS IS F*CKING GREAT. MY BIGGEST PRIORITY IS MEASURING THE SEVERITY OF OTHER PEOPLE’S HARDSHIPS. THIS IS F*CKING AWWWWWESOOOOMMMMMMEEE”
im so tired of white and black. the world revolves around white and black. if you really think everyone under ‘white’ and everyone under ‘black’ fit snuggly into these two simple words, you’re racist. and if you think the rest of us enjoy sitting under the POC umbrella, youre racist. my name is marcela. categorize people by the cultures they have pride in at least, stop categorizing people around white people. how racist toward ourselves is that? and tumblr, STOP TRYING TO AUTO CORRECT MY NAME TO CARMELA.
There’s been a lot of talk these last couple of weeks about “hipster racism” or “ironic racism”—or, as I like to call it, racism. It’s, you know, introducing your black friend as “my black friend”—as a joke!!!—to show everybody how totally not preoccupied you are with your black…
I dunno, theres a hint of white supremacy in declaring one’s own people (white people/hipsters) the only culprits of racism. also she referred to thuglife only being applicable to black people. I thought not all black people are thugs and not all thugs are black people. thats pretty racist. the constant “you” and “we” makes me feel like im the hispanic in the room wondering why the white girl talking about how racism is bad isnt talking to me because Im not white. and she’s so guilty of number 4 its makes me dizzy. white people who constantly talk about how white people are racist are so racist its ridiculous.
this is what I do during my 6hr anatomy class 30min break
