remember that time I made a post about how people misconstrue eveything as racist because they don’t know how to talk about race and two seconds later some teenaged blonde was like, omg thats so rude and I think maybe its racist.

“Segregating students by race and deciding who gets free meals by race is a way to end racism. I see no holes in my logic.”

Let us hope that at least some of them have the courage and intellect to stand up, exclaim “Fuck this shit” and walk away to do something actually productive.

there have been so many mornings on my train ride to school where I find myself actually admiring Chicago, people, people’s wardrobes, people’s colors, people’s actions, and then I sit down in a liberal arts class, we all open our books, and our teachers tell us, “everything about america that you love. its a lie. you all actually still just see each other as a class or a color and so do your bosses and businesses. never mind your personal experiences, its actually all shit. now take 5 minutes to write about 5 things that are wrong with america.” we all walk out of there with our heads down and with an amplified awareness of how we can’t relate to each other. it feels really fucking shitty. my english teachers always love me, and I love impressing them. but the generalizations are disgusting, narrow minded, and, I think, its part of a campaign to tear us apart. criticism and questioning of everything we know about America is absolutely necessary. this is not it. education: you’re doing it wrong.

Chicago's unreported 'race war'

imgonnaletyoucallmetheruler:

According to a statement in the Chicago Tribune, reporting on the race of individuals involved in news events, such as mobs attacking, robbing and vandalizing, is irrelevant.

A news anchor at the ABC affiliate in Chicago goes even further: Anyone who reads or writes about the epidemic of racial violence in Chicago is an “idiot” who engages in “meaningless … race baiting,” says Ravi Baichwal.

City officials and the media might be the only two places left where people still deny Chicago is under assault from more than 50 episodes of black mobs attacking, beating, robbing and vandalizing over the last three years in and around downtown. Many of them are on display at YouTube.

Some call it the “Chicago Intifada.”

I am from chicago, my boyfriend works in the specific downtown area where this is happening and yes it is happening and no it is never on the news. you can drive passed it everyday but you will not see it on the news and you are racist if you bring it up. you are racist if you say what you see. what is going on?!

I don’t think people understand what I mean when I say that welfare and affirmative action are institutionalized racism. I don’t mean its racist toward the people who don’t get it. I mean its racist toward the people who DO get it. its disabling. its enslavement. and I just saw a preview for a documentary on this subject that I’m really interested in watching.

I was watching Mitt Romney speak on TV while I was waiting at the doctors office

atheistme:

And he said “If you are looking for a president who will further african-american rights, I am that man”

Yes, Mitt. People are going to vote the first ever black president out of office in pursuit of african-american rights. That makes tons of sense.

Sometimes I wonder if that man hears himself when he says stuff.

The assumption that the president’s race merits his accomplishments or lack thereof  is racist.

sooo weary of labels

If someone reffered to me as a “person of color”, I’d be offended.

jojobear11:

I am a person. That is all that matters.

yes, outrage is necessary today. but we already pay a lot of unconstitutional taxes. we haven’t been America for a really, really long time now.

by America, don’t you mean white?

This plz.

why do liberals insist on making everything about race? Im not white, I don’t abide by white and black because they don’t exist. “white” represents no one. “black” represents no one. and most especially they do not represent ME. it leaves the rest of us in the dark, not even taking note of our existence. fucking racist. I exist too.
